Sale Time For Fall Gardening Seeds
It's time again to get out the seed catalogs and plan for the fall garden. Here in San Antonio it gives me hope cool weather will come at some point. We've had a hot dry summer this year.
I've been watering early every morning and misting midday, afternoon and then finally another soak in the early evening. The plants seem to be requesting the water or they droop in despair.
It's been great for the tomatoes and a bear on the herbs. Even the hardy mint subcumbed with the heat and some pesky spider mites. Spraying with a mild soap and the misting only seemed to prolong their agony.
Check your zone for how many growing days you have left in your season. If you are unsure call your local extension office. No matter the type of gardening you choose-accessible gardening, container gardening, raised bed gardening or urban gardening, there's still more growing season to enjoy.
When I went online I found several companies offering specials and discounts. Here are some you might want to check out:
Bargains and sales make gardening all the better, or so my wife says. But that's another story.
All in a gardener's day,

What do you recommend for fall planting seeds?
I have some 'empty' spots in my garden from my garden
cleanup over the weekend. Again, what would you recommend this time of year.
Frank,
What you plant now would depend upon how much growing season you still have. Seeds take time to grow and bear fruit. So see what you would like to grow and then see if you have enough time to harvest the crop before the first freeze.
It is still very hot here. But later in the fall I will still have time to grow "cool climate" vegetables such as lettuce.
